Sale 5 mile Race on Sunday 27th May 2012 at Wythenshawe park

On a perfect, hot morning, Manchester Harriers were well represented by 2 ladies and 7 men in the Sale 5mile race at Wythenshawe Park.  

 

The race began with two laps of the track, and then onto a slightly shaded trail path before heading out on to the hot tarmac path of the Park and the pavement of Altrincham Road.

 

Every time there was a shaded bit of the course, the runners veered towards it, it was " cruel" out there although the chirpy marshals kept us going. We ran two laps of the Park and then back onto the track for 500m before the finish line and very hot hands grasped a cold bottle of water.

 

A very good race and one which I always come back to every year!
